CEE Kicks Off Minnesota Energy Challenge at Upcoming Energy Fairs

October 10, 2006 - Two upcoming Energy Fairs will help residents reduce household bills through low-cost improvements and showcase new ideas for saving money and energy. Displays and demonstrations will cover topics such as energy-saving light bulbs, programmable thermostats, energy audits, high-efficiency furnaces, project financing, tax incentives, and preparing the home for the heating season. The first 500 attendees at each fair will receive free light bulbs, and there will be activities for the kids.

The Fairs will also introduce the Minnesota Energy Challenge, a program developed by Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) aimed at reducing our state's CO2 emissions while lowering household energy bills. Residents who Take the Challenge will save money and energy through simple steps, learn how CO2 emissions affect energy costs and climate change, and start tracking the savings of their household, neighborhood, city, or congregation.
